TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Directors bought a Bach in the Coromandel privately to provide a lifestyle option for our families. We looked extensively and chose one in Matarangi. The property is located at 546 Matarangi Drive, Matarangi and we have named it The Squashed Olive. Matarangi is on its own peninsula in North Mercury Bay. It has a very big golden sand beach, a golf course and lots of local walks. It is situated 20 minutes north of Whitianga and 20 minutes east of Coromandel Town. The best way to get to Matarangi is to drive through Thames northwards up towards Coromandel. You can of course go across the Coromandel Ranges at Kopu but this will add significant time to your journey. There is a local dairy, liquor store and café close by. It takes approx.. 4 minutes to walk to the beach from the Bach.
Weekends and annual NZ holidays are for the Directors and their families, however if you see a Director Pending message then that usually means it isn’t being used. If you see a weekend/holiday period in pending status then feel free to email both greg@thefrontrow.co.nz and mike@thefrontrow.co.nz and see if its not being used.
The Squashed Olive is open to Senior Management (GM’s, AGM’s and Head Chef’s and other invited guests) it is a privilege not a right and will be open for you to use if the house rules are adhered to.
Bookings cost $50 per night, it’s not to make money here but to cover any out of pocket expenses in the running of the bach. The cost of your stay must be deposited into the following account before your stay and will be checked before the keys and alarm code are given. Squashed Olive Trustee Ltd 12-3237-0029542-00
The Squashed Olive has 3 double beds, and 5 bunk beds so can sleep 12 people. We are happy for you to invite your partner (children too), however if you would like to take more people up there then you will need to get approval from a Director. We require that the house rules are followed. A list of the house rules can be found below. Please note your booking request may not be approved on the numbers you request.
The garage has many items, a Kayak including lifejackets (which must be worn) and a set of golf clubs for use by all that visit The Squashed Olive. Please ensure that they end up in the garage complete at the end of your stay as you found them.
Stuff gets broken by accident or lost by accident, please ensure that we are told about these occurrences so that we can remedy them before the next visitors arrive.
The TV has access to streaming TV in the event of a rained out visit and you find yourself stuck indoors along with a variety of board games, cards, DVD’s etc… and a foosball table
The internet is available onsite and the wifi network is The Squashed Olive and the password is Gotothebeach18 . Use this as much as you like.
You and your visitors must provide your own linen and pillows.
Please be considerate of neighbours down there. We all like to have a giggle but we must co-exist with our neighbours for the long term and don’t wish to get them offside. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL.
If you find yourself down there in Winter or on some colder days you’ll find plenty of heaters which can be used.
